Thanks for having us on your blog, Geri. We really
appreciate it!
Cari Quinn and I are working on a rock star series starring
the boys from Oblivion. And because music plays such a large part of the
writing, it also is the main ingredient in the inspiration. I’m the visual one
of the partnership. I’ll pour over pictures and research for settings. And
you’ll find that in my writing. (Although I’ll tell you it was tough to do in
this book because it’s solely in the male pov and those guys just don’t allow
for the lyrical and flowing writing I use for imagery. Grrr.)
Cari’s strength is the angst and soul bleeding twists she
puts into a story. And believe me for the purposes of this series…Cari is just
awesome. She knows how to create a complete labyrinth of problems to resolve
through the 5 books that make up Lost in Oblivion.
But one thing we always agree on is the need for a playlist when we’re working. And we can’t quite get the book going without one. We have very eclectic taste, and not all the songs on our playlist are genre specific to what Oblivion plays, but they do inspire us based on whatever chapter and scene we’re working on.
One of my personal faves is Slipknot’s “Snuff”.
It’s not the typical growly heavy rock song that they generally play. This is a
bit more low-key and the lyrics are pretty heavy. But the feel is perfect for
the story. Because when these guys love, they love so hard and so completely
that it eclipses all reason sometimes. But one thing we always agree on is the need for a playlist when we’re working. And we can’t quite get the book going without one. Seduced is a love story about a band. There are romantic
entanglements that make themselves known, but in all reality…Seduced
concentrates on the band’s infrastructure and just how 5 very different people
come together and create something new.
The next book in the series, ROCKED—coming out this fall,
will narrow the focus onto Deacon, the bass player of the band. And that’s when
we get into the sexy romance.*rubs hands*
In the craziness that is Oblivion’s first US tour, Deacon will have to
navigate the minefield that is social media while falling in love with a woman
that is predisposed to hate rock stars. Oh, and in the middle of all of that he
and the band have to make a major decision about their first full-length album
and the pitfalls of fame.
Next will be TWISTED, coming out in February, 2014.

Excerpt One – Jazz & Nick
“I don’t know
why I’m crying.” Jazz shook her head,
her sobs leaving her throat on shuddery gasps. “I can handle fuckers like them.
I have before, so many times. But they caught me off-guard, and they grabbed me
from behind. That always reminds me of…God, it reminds me.” She stopped there,
shuddering.
Of what? Nick almost asked, then decided it
wasn’t his business. She wasn’t. Even
if the idea of anyone touching her like that—sneaking up on her from
behind—scorched through his show nerves and left his muscles quivering for a
whole new reason. He wanted blood.
Tucking it away,
Nick wrapped his arm around her shoulders and lowered his face to her hair. She
was shivering so violently her jaw kept clicking. “Hey, hey,” he murmured,
stroking all those wild curls he hadn’t been able to get out of his mind. She
sparkled, even in the dark. “It’s okay. You’re okay. They’re gone.”
She only
shivered harder. “They didn’t have any right to t…touch me,” she said through
clenched teeth. “I told them no and they did it anyway. I said no.”
“I know you did.
I heard you, loud and clear.” Nick took a risk and touched her cheek, tilting
her heart-shaped face upward. Her cheeks were sheened with moisture. Even her
lips were trembling. His heart lurched again. “Hey, look at me. Jazz.” It felt
weird to call her that, when he found himself calling her Jasmine more often
than not. How could he resist when she’d tossed such an irresistible opening
line at him? He was an asshole, and
she was as beautiful and delicate as jasmine. Too delicate for a bastard like
him. “Jazz, look here.”
Her eyes stayed
resolutely closed. “It’s…Jasmine to you, asshole.”
Just like that,
he knew she was okay. That she’d faced worse in the past and survived.
Survivors came in all kinds of packages. Sparkles or grime, giggles or growls.
Chuckling, he
stroked his fingertips along her jaw. Lightly, to give her something to focus
on. And maybe to satisfy his curiosity if her skin would feel as satiny as it
looked.
Knowing that it
did didn’t exactly give him comfort.
Her big eyes
flashed open and locked on his, and he let out a long breath at the punch of
awareness. What the hell was it about this girl that worked him over so
thoroughly?
About the
Authors
tale garnered, she was hooked. Now she gets to pen sexy
romances for a living and routinely counts her lucky stars. When she’s not
scribbling furiously, she can usually be found watching men’s college
basketball, playing her music way too loud or causing trouble. Sometimes
simultaneously.

- She’s from the great state of New York--upstate NY…you know, above NYC by
about three hours. Her family consists of a brother who takes care of keeping
the snarky side of her alive and a dog that is more spoiled child than mutt.
Her writer-friends are the glue that keeps her crazy ideas more in the sane
category, and her non-writerly friends are the reason she’s not a complete
hermit. She can't go a day without laughing and truly does fall in love with
each and every one of her leading men as she writes their book. Music is life
and every story has its own soundtrack.
