Catch A MateCatch A Mate by Gena Showalter
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Though known more for her paranormal books, most notably her Lords of the Underworld series, Ms. Showalter's Catch a Mate is a fun, light, sexy and sweet read.

Jillian Greene works for CAM -- Catch a Mate, and no, it's not a dating agency. Jillian gets paid by suspicious wives to smile, flirt and prove that no man can be trusted around the opposite sex. In other words, she is bait.

She wanted CAM for herself. Unbeknownst to her, Anne, her boss, sold the company to Marcus Brody. Tall, blond, gorgeous Marcus. Because of their respective pasts -- Marcus' wife cheated on him and Jillian saw her father cheat on her mother -- they are distrustful of the opposite sex, the problem is they are also attracted to each other.

Marcus and Jillian fought their attraction, and I mean really fought it, which made me want to shake them at times. Jillian was so bitter and closed off to relationships, it was difficult to read her inner dialog sometimes. And Marcus was no better than Jillian. He was just as mistrustful and jaded. But they did pull through at the end.

I loved the secondary story as well between Brent, Jillian's brother and Georgia, Jillian's best friend. And yes, I admit, I did tear up a bit with that scene between Jillian and her dad when she finally talked with him and finally forgiven him.

Overall, I enjoyed this one very much.

4 solid stars!!
